“O for a Muse of fire,
that would ascend
The brightest heaven
of invention,
A kingdom for a
stage, princes to act
And monarchs to
behold the swelling
scene!”
-Willam Shakespeare
King Henry V

Jem Rolls

Jem Rolls
matthias kothe for the scottish poetry library

Jem Rolls is an energetic and hilarious performer and poet who lives in Edinburgh Scotland when not on tour. In 2004 he toured Canada's fringe festival circuit and received great reviews. According to the Montreal Gazette (2002-3) Jem Rolls "has the rapid-word power to restore flavor and meaning to a language hijacked to inert stupor by inane newspeak and incessant adtalk… "Poems" doesn't quite cover it, more like verbal thunderballs…A must see for anyone interested in the limits of language and the power of poetry."
